Nothing to do with layout or driving...

...While I'm stuck still trying to make a plan for finishing layout I decided to repaint the room. Like 20+ years, old quite dirty, but mostly because it was chalk white, very reflective and contrasting layout. Especially since I changed over head lights to led shop lights-just glare

Going to split wall colors, lower section darker, matching rustoleum fossil spray paint, upper section several shades lighter and leave ceiling white. Started painting, against the original white upper looks pretty dark...

But once all of upper section painted and lower section painted the fossil looks completely different, upper looks almost white again. I like it glare off walls gone, not so stark , a lot more subtle, Camera likes it too

In one corner of room is a recessed alcove above desk top to ceiling with built in shelves above. It was surrounded by book shelves on the wall.

I had earlier removed the wall shelves just to open up room. To paint behind/around the shelves I decided to remove unit for ease of painting. When I did the desk top fall off. It was just a sink cutout from white kitchen formica top. hmm .

So I replaced with another formica sink cutout I had. A bit larger and color matches. Once alcove painted replaced the shelf unit. The top will slide out so I bored hole thru it and hollow wall below to run power strip cord instead of it draped over edge.

So we have a place to work on rigs if quick repairs/adjustments needed and a place to charge. Though this 'desk' top has been here for 40+ years hanging out12", that it hasn't broken or sagged amazing. Im seeing this cantilevered piece of particle board snapping so will be gusseting and install supports brackets underneath.

Anyway room painted. Painted the closet bi fold doors and outside of main door (old finished wood just looked orange) the lighter color. The main door I painted inside (closed) the dark color. Outer side I painted the light color as its close to hall color, likely repaint inside to match closet doors. I may add a rail later between colors Still debating on the door frame color, doesn't look bad. If/when I add divider rail probably use 3rd color, thinking a darker cream color. Later.
