NETBOY'S TRUCK CAMPER CHECKLIST =============================== LOADING CAMPER ON TRUCK: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Air up truck tires (front 65 psi, rear 80 psi) & air springs (25 psi) - TV Antenna Down - Raise Camper to Clear Truck Bed, Keep Camper Level or Front High - Remove Any Obstacles Under Camper - Hook String Plumb Bob on Camper Cabover - Remove Truck Tailgate, Make sure Bed is Empty - Back in 2/3, Get Out & Inspect Alignment - Complete Backing in - Connect Camper Plug to Truck - Lower Camper Jacks - Stow Jack Remote Control - Feed XM Antenna Lead from Camper into Truck Cab - Connect Tiedowns - Remove String Plumb Bob from Camper Cabover - Extend Truck Mirrors - Stow Hydraulic Jack in Front of Passenger Side Wheelwheel - Final Walk Around Inspection - If Camper will be Moved: -- Disconnect Shore Power -- Inspect Inside of Camper, Secure All Goods Preparing For a Trip: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Refrigerator, Day Before: Turn Frig on Shorepower - TV Antenna Down - Raise Rollup Barn Door Fully B/4 Leaving Barn (in blindspot if not)! - Load Food, Cloths, & Needed Gear - Turn Propane and CO detectors on - Propane On if Frig will be Run on Gas, Off Otherwise - Refrigerator, On Departure: Turn Frig on 12V or Propane - Unplug Shore Power - Stow Steps & Door Mat - Pull Out of Barn & Shut Barn Door - Check Fresh Water Tank, Drain and/or Refill as Needed - Check Gray and Black Water Tanks - Check Battery Condition & Propane Levels - Check Tire & Air Bag Pressures - Check Running & Brake Lights - Check Truck Fluid Levels (Engine & Tranny Oil, Coolant, etc). - Verify Extra Keys are Aboard - Secure All Camper External Doors - Load Leveling Blocks, Truck Tools, Jumper Cables, & Jack - Install front bike rack, load & secure bikes - Fuel Truck Fully SETTING UP CAMP: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Before Backing In, Get Out & Check For Trees or Other Obstacles - Level Truck/Camper with Blocks if Necessary - Lower Rear Jacks as Stabilizers if Desired - Connect Shore Power if Available - Turn On Propane & Test at Stove to Purge Gas Line - Light Water Heater if Desired - Switch Frig to Propane, or Shore Power if Available - If Raising TV Antenna, Hang "Antenna-Up" Sign on Steering Wheel BREAKING CAMP: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Inside: - TV Antenna Down - TV Stowed - Water Pump Switch Off - All Lights Off - TV/Stereo Power Switch Off - Refrigerator Turned to 12V or Propane - Remove Gear from Forward of Wheelwells - Final Check: All Gear, Doors & Drawers Secured? Outside: - Water Heater Off - Drain Water Tank to 1/4 full to reduce weight - Shore Power Disconnected - Propane Off if Frig on 12V - Water Disconnected - Drain Black & Gray Water if Necessary - Gray & Black Water Hoses Stowed - Awnings Retracted, Side Awning Handle Stowed - Electric Jacks Raised & Wood Blocks Stowed - Steps Stowed, Door Mat Put Inside - Bikes Secured on Rack with Bungis and Lock - Secure All Camper External Compartment Doors - Make Sure Entrance Door is Fully Latched Shut - Inspect Under & Around Truck - Clear? - Final Walk-Around: Good to go? ARRIVING HOME: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Remove Food from Both Freezer and Frig - Switch Frig to OFF - Assure Propane is Shut Off - Turn Propane and CO Detectors Off - Drain Tanks if not Done - Unload Food, Cloths, Gear - Clean Camper Inside - Drain Camper Tanks as Needed - Wash Truck & Camper if Needed - Open Rollup Barn Door Fully - Check All Clear B/4 Backing In - Plug in Shore Power UNLOADING CAMPER FROM TRUCK: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Empty Area Forward of Wheelwells, Including Hydraulic Jack - Remove XM Antenna Lead from Truck Cab and Hang on Camper Jack - Disconnect Tiedowns - Raise Camper Jacks, Keep Camper Level or Front High - Disconnect Camper Plug From Truck and Hang on Camper Jack - Pull Carefully Away From Camper - Lower Camper Jacks, Keeping Level or Front High - Stow Jack Remote Control - Connect Shore Power - Air down truck tires (front 50psi, rear40 psi) & air springs (10 psi)
